What We Do
The activities we are involved in fall into three main categories:
Click on each one to see more detailed information. Briefly:
Folk Club Nights are held on the first Tuesday of each month at 7.15 for 8.00 pm in the Ayr Ex-Services Club. There is normally an entrance charge, and the night consists of one headline performer supported by floor singers. Club Nights can also be singers’ nights with only a nominal entry charge. Our 2017-18 season starts in September.
Phoenix Jam is a free, open and supportive acoustic jam session held on Saturday afternoons in the Ayr Ex-Services Club from 2.00 until 5.00 pm. All are welcome, whether you want to perform or just watch and listen.
Phoenix Musical Hearts & Minds is a music therapy Alzheimer’s/dementia/multiple sclerosis support offshoot of Ayr Phoenix Folk Club. A tried and tested interactive musical entertainment model will be operating at Ayr Ex-Services on the first Monday of every month 2.00 pm to 3.30 pm. A very nominal £1 per person charge will be made including supply of tea/coffee and biscuits,
So all dementia suffers together with carers / family members are eagerly invited along for what promises to be a tremendous friendship and music-making afternoon.
Please contact us if you would like any further information on any of these activities.
