The activities we are involved in fall into four main categories.

Our venue for all activities is town centre Ayr Ex-Services Club, Academy Street.

Briefly:

Folk Club Guest Concert Nights are held on the first Tuesday of each month at 7.15 for 8.00 pm.  There is normally an entrance charge, and the night consists of a guest headline performer supported by floor singers.  Our monthly 2018 programme starts on 6th February  with a July/August summer recess.

Folk Club Floor Singer Open Mic Nights are free entry and held on the third Tuesday of each month  7.30 to 10.30 pm. Whereas club guest concert evenings provide limited floor singing opportunity , these nights offer a performance stage for as many floor singers as can be offered a spot or two over the whole evening. Our monthly 2018 programme starts on 16th January with a July/August summer recess

Phoenix Jam is a free, open and supportive acoustic jam session held on Saturday afternoons in the Ayr Ex-Services Club from 2.00 until 5.00 pm.  All are welcome, whether you want to perform or just watch and listen.

Phoenix Musical Hearts & Minds is a free music therapy Alzheimer’s/dementia/multiple sclerosis support offshoot of Ayr Phoenix Folk Club.  A tried and tested interactive musical entertainment model operates at Ayr Ex-Services on the first Monday of every month 2.00 pm to 3.30 pm. Tea/coffee and biscuits served. These care communities are eagerly invited along for what is a tremendous friendship and music-making afternoon. Nominal donations gratefully accepted

Please contact us if you would like any further information on any of these activities.
